Lee Burgess

Dispensary General Manager

A natural leader and team builder, Lee started his professional career in the concert industry as an intern with one of the largest production companies in the business in 2001 where he deveolped his marketing and and budget management skills. Over the course of 7 years he was soon promoted and took the role of Production Manager and Talent Buyers Assistant.

A job offer evenutally took him to Las Vegas where he continued his role as Production Manager for a video content production company and helped the company grow into a 16,000 sq ft studio and helped developed a live show broadcasted monthly via satellite truck.

Appreciative of the opportunity but missing his home and the midwest way of life in Kansas City, Lee moved back and opened an art gallery that focused on shining a positive light on street art and graffiti in Kansas City. He admits, one of his proudest life achievements was creating the now infamous Art Alley in the Crossroads Art District with his fellow artists where local artists are welcome to paint and express their art on giant brick walls. Working as a bartender part time, he was asked to step into a management role once again to be GM of KC’s first self-pour craft beer pub. Transitioning into the food and beverage industry, Lee quickly learned how to work with city officials in a regulated industry.

With both a background in live entertainment and food and beverage, Lee was recruited by the VooDoo Louge at Harrah’s Kansas City where he worked as Talent Buyer and Manager of the 1,400 capacity concert venue for almost 3 years before the cannabis industry eventually opened up in Missouri.
